Overview
This blog post is part of a series where we will be looking at a few simple use cases and basics when using SAP BW bridge for Data Warehouse Cloud. The purpose of this series is for you to have a walkthrough of how SAP BW bridge, SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud can work together.
In Part 3, we will be looking at how SAP Analytics Cloud integrates with SAP BW bridge for Data Warehouse Cloud.
Introduction to SAP BW bridge for Data Warehouse Cloud
SAP BW bridge is the latest feature to be released for SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. The main benefit is being able to leverage existing on-premise designs in SAP BW, while also having access to the latest cloud-based functionality in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. For a detailed breakdown, please head over to the Overview and Technical Deep Dive blog.
Pre-requisites
In the following section, we will be using SAP Analytics Cloud.
You will need to have your connection to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud already set up for this example
Part 3: Using SAP Analytics Cloud with SAP BW bridge and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud
Note: Normally when working with either Live or Acquired data, we would first create a model in SAP Analytics Cloud. For SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, however, we go directly to the story.
Step 1: Creating a Story
Create a new story.
Step 2: Adding Data
Add data to your story.
Step 3: Selecting Source Type
Select “Data from a data source”.
Step 4: Selecting Data Source
Select SAP Data Warehouse Cloud under Live Data
Step 5: Selecting Connection
Select your predefined connection to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. (This is the same connection mentioned at the beginning of the blog post)
Step 6: Selecting Space
Select your predefined space which you were working on in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. (This refers to steps in *Part 2* of this series)
Step 7: Selecting View
Select your dataset from SAP Data Warehouse Cloud you wish to consume
And lastly, your data is now available to use in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Do check out the demo below where we continue our example from Part 1 and Part 2 to finally show you how your data from SAP BW bridge is available in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Demo
In the demo, we will be taking you through the steps for SAP Analytics Cloud to access data from SAP BW bridge for Data Warehouse Cloud.
