We have published an updated version of the “Transition to SAP BW/4HANA” roadmap with new links to supporting material for the implemenation project and updated project plan templates.
In addition, we have included information about the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge.
SAP BW bridge is a feature of SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, that provides a path to the public cloud for SAP BW and SAP BW/4HANA customers. SAP offers the possibility of a tool-supported move of SAP BW or SAP BW/4HANA investments to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge.
In the activity Strategic Planning in the Discover phase we explain, why and how moving to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge, could be a successor step to moving to SAP BW/4HANA and combining it in a hybrid scenario with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, but we also inform about the restrictions that apply with the current version, see SAP Note 3117800 – Information/Restrictions Note for SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge.
In the Run phase of the roadmap, we have added an activity “Conversion of SAP BW/4HANA to SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, SAP BW bridge” which describes the steps of a shell conversion to SAP BW bridge.
An alternative remote conversion will be available later this year and a description will then be added to the roadmap accordingly.
