The tool analyzes the functional system usage of your SAP ERP application. It then highlights the new or improved functionalities of SAP S/4HANA and other SAP innovations that are most relevant for the respective lines of business and can help improve the performance and efficiency of the associated business processes. At the same time, it benchmarks your organization’s operational business performance with its industry peers. This comprises process performance indicators (PPIs) for relevant process improvements, such as degree of automation, process failures, and on-time execution.
Process Discovery contains two complementary elements:
- A PDF document providing a summary targeted at business executives
- A cloud-based interactive application for process analysts

Business Process Discovery in SAP Readiness Check
The Business Process Discovery check in SAP Readiness Check shows a preview of the information offered in the Process Discovery tool. This comprises the improvement potential for business processes in the areas of process automation, cleanup of overdue documents, and never-used order types, thus providing simplification and harmonization opportunities.
Improvements in the aforementioned areas are extremely beneficial before converting to SAP S/4HANA and can reduce the overall data volume in the system, the conversion downtime, and the memory requirements for the target system.
