SAP has provided an interesting option called ‘Adapt UI’ in SAP S/4HANA Cloud which is based on SAP Screen Personas. It enables classic applications to behave more like SAP Fiori apps. It simplifies the complex classic applications by redesigning the screen elements like hiding an icon/field, changing table properties, formatting the labels/fields, grouping the required fields from different tabs into a single screen as per the business needs in a very simple way without any prior technical knowledge. Even the functional consultants can easily make the classic screen changes to meet the client requirements.

In this Blog post, I will show you how to hide ‘New Items’ icon in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud classic screen MIGO (App name: Post Goods Movement) using Adapt UI functionality

As a pre-requisite, Create Assignment category before proceeding with the below video.

Access fiori app ‘Manage Flavors’ > select ‘Assignment Categories’ > Click on ‘Create’ icon > Input the Assignment category name and click on ‘Continue’.

Now, while creating flavor as per below video, you will be able to assign it to the assignment categories. And then it will show the assigned flavors under the Flavor Assignment tab of the Fiori app ‘Manage Flavor’. Flavors can be assigned to the assignment categories using two ways either from the Manage Flavors app or using the share icon in the create flavor screen (as shown in the below video).

So, now by using Adapt UI, we have hidden the New item icon based on a condition that if Goods issue option is selected. Similarly, you can try formatting any other fields, labels, buttons, icons and table properties.
