Introduction:

  • In this video series, we will introduce you to the high level concepts of SAP Open Connectors
  • We will also talk about the relatively new HL7 FHIR standard that allows for exchanging healthcare information
  • Finally, we will talk about how we can build our own SAP Open Connector to retrieve data from Epic FHIR Sandbox systems

 

Synopsis:

  • HL7 FHIR is a relatively new standard that defines how healthcare information can be exchanged
  • There are multiple benefits of using HL7 FHIR
    • Makes it easy to provide healthcare info to anyone that has a need for it
    • Access healthcare in a wide variety of devices and form factors
    • Ease of application development
  • SAP Open Connectors simplifies connectivity to 3rd party apps on non-SAP products
  • Currently, there are more than 250+ connectors to various non-SAP cloud applications
  • However, there are no SAP Open Connectors to retrieve healthcare info from Epic or Cerner providers
  • In this video series, we will look at how we can build our own SAP Open Connectors to retrieve Patient resources from Epic FHIR Sandbox systems
