In this blog post we will discuss about Replication Content Update. We will see why it is a must to upload the latest CFIN content in SLT. Also, will talk about high level steps to check the current content version and related SAP Notes.
Background
Due to different release cycles of Simple Finance and DMIS add-on it can happen that the content delivered for the Central Finance replication does not fit to the replication interfaces in the Central Finance system. Therefore, SAP recommends to install the current content version.
e.g.: If you upgrade the SLT system from a version before DMIS 2011 SP12 to DMIS2011 SP12 or higher the content update is mandatory to avoid duplicate errors in AIF (same applies for respective S/4HANA versions).
There are separate CFIN contents available for non-AVL tables (CFIN_ACCHD, COBK, AUFK, etc.) and AVL tables (VBAK, VBRK, EKKO and RBKP). Besides, if the source is non – SAP, additionally we have to upload content for non-SAP source systems to update the staging area in SLT.
Details
When we “Copy pre-defined load and Replication Objects” in SLT, “Project” field will always be “REPL_CFIN”. It is the “Subproject” field which is separate for non-AVL, AVL or non-SAP source systems.
Source | Tables | Project | Sub-project | Comments | Reference SAP Note |
SAP | NON-AVL | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN | Required for Non-AVL tables | 2154420 |
SAP | AVL | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN_AS | Required for AVL tables | 3013315 |
Non – SAP | NON-AVL | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN | Required for Non-AVL tables | 2610660 |
Non – SAP | AVL | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN_AS | Required for AVL tables | 2610660 |
Non – SAP | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN_ST | Additionally required only when source is Non-SAP | 2610660 | |
SAP | AVL (EKKO) | REPL_CFIN | REPL_CFIN_SRC | Additionally required only when EKKO table is also migrated to the target CFIN system | 3013315 |
The content to be uploaded are available via SAP notes mentioned in the above table. Which content to select and upload in SLT is decided by the S/4 HANA version of the target CFIN system.
To install the current content version, download the respective content and upload it in the SAP LT Replication Server using program “DMC_UPLOAD_OBJECT”. Do not change the names of the downloaded files, otherwise program DMC_UPLOAD_OBJECT might not work. The upload program has two parameters. For the first parameter the path to the list file (*_LIST.TXT) in the second parameter the path to the data file (*_DATA_x x x.txt).
Also, it is always advisable to check regularly that the current content versions are uploaded in the SLT system. Refer note 3196293 – How to check the current Central Finance replication content version on an SLT system ? – SAP ONE Support Launchpad for checking the current content version in SLT system and compare it with the latest content available via notes mentioned in the above table. If the version is not latest then re-upload the contents as required based on tables and source system type.
Conclusion
It is utmost important to upload the latest CFIN content to make sure your CFIN landscape is consistent. This will ensure data loads and replications are consistent.
