In this blog – I will be trying to bring you the gist of SAP TechEd Bangalore Keynote; so that it will be easier to understand what will be SAP technology trend in near future.
During her talk, Sindhu clearly mentioned the importance of Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India – perspective of SAP’s innovations, product knowledge, partner eco-system and so on.
SAP Chief Technology Officer and Executive Board Member Juergen Mueller started the executive keynote discussing about the topics covered in Barcelona & Las Vegas TechEd; he told that this Bangalore keynote will cover new topics and will be very technical in details.
Juergen Mueller took the stage to discuss leading concepts and technologies of the intelligent enterprise including key end-to-end business processes infused with intelligence.
Operational Data (O data) tells you what happens.
Experience Data (X data) tells you why it happens.
SAP infuses Intelligence between these two and that’s why easily help Business users, who can take right decision at right point in time.
Intelligent Enterprise is SAP’s new DNA.
There are 4 mega processes very much important to run any business:
– Design-to-Operate
– Total Workforce Management
– Source-to-Pay
– Lead-to-Cash
SAP API Business Hub helps to integrate these processes & sub-processes.
He explained SAP Quote-to-Order sub-processes under the main process Lead-to-Cash. Till date there are 88 Lead-to-Cash Integration flows are released for pure cloud whereas 63 CX Integration flows are released for on-premise and cloud.
After the discussion of Operational Data, Juergen explained all the four pillars(Database & Data Management, Application Development & Integration, Intelligent Technologies and Analytics) of SAP’s Business Technology Platform which brings the intelligence into business data, with some scenarios and demos.
Juergen also touch upon Master Data Governance, SAP Cloud Platform, Business Services.
During his talk, Juergen also shown the decision tree for different tools and runtime in SCP when these can be used. Juergen explained the importance of SCP within SAP –

SAP is already available on public cloud like Azure, AWS, GCP and Alibaba. Due to public sector & regulatory reasons, SAP has working with partners like IBM, Atos to provide SAP solutions on private cloud.
IBM & SAP – together, successfully onboarded 3 pilot customers – who can avail SAP solutions & SCP in fully managed private cloud.
Juergen provided highlights of SAPUI5 in Bangalore as he has already discussed about SAP Fiori 3 in other TechEds.
Juergen launches SAP Business Application Studio – which will be used for SCP Cloud Foundry environment. He also talked about SAP’s contribution & deep connection with Open Source environment & community.
Regarding the Business Data value and the importance of Analytics for it, Juergen provided the formula:
(Amount of Data) x (Quality of Data) x (Usage of Data) = (Data Value).
SAP HANA going more Cloud Native with HANA Cloud, Data Warehouse Cloud is complimentary of BW4/HANA – address the first two portion of this formula.
And now SAP Analytics Cloud address the third part – data usage.

Juergen also announced that from Q4/2019, SAC will be available embedded with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. And SAC Embedded Edition will be available in SAP Cloud Platform from Q1/2020 onwards.
In the Intelligent Enterprise Technologies section, there was also an impressive demo – how SAP simplifying the end-user experience by integrating Chatbot with SAP Products with the usage of SAP Conversational AI.
Believe it or not – one can build a chatbot in less than 2 minutes with the help of SAP Conversational AI.
Now AutoML can be used in SAP Data Intelligence pipeline.
After showing the SAP’s Business Architecture on Hyperscalers, Juergen invited Ma Jin, Chief Product Officer, Alibaba Cloud on the TechEd stage.
Ma Jin told that its platform helped Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant for selling goods worth 268 billion yuan, or $38.4 billion in 24hours during Double 11 Global Shopping Festival. As per Juergen, it must be a world record.
Alibaba’s Singles’ Day sales top $38 billion and Ma Jin confirmed that SAP was one of major responsible technology behind this success.
In his last demo with Qualtrics, Juergen showed how operational data can be combined with experience data and get the competitive advantages.
Juergen reminded the whole Bangalore TechEd crowd to make use of SAP TechEd to expand the professional network, get to know people whom you don’t know yet, engage with SAP experts – these are as much important as getting to know new technology, new topics, new contents, etc.
