About the Exam
Training and Learning
Information about the exam is published on the SAP Training website. This is also where you can book the exam (or get a Certification Hub subscription). As the exam code changes over time, search for LCNC for the latest version
LCNC is the exam code. The C_ stands for the associate (consultant) level type exam.
The exam page lists number of questions (80), duration (3 hours), and cut score. As this might change in subsequent editions, check the page for the latest information.
The page also provides a link to sample questions (see below).
The same information is also presented on the (new) SAP Learning portal
Validity
For a history of current and earlier versions of the certification, see Credly
Credly also provides a listing of the badge holders
Note that the LCNC_01 and LCNC_02 certifications are listed separately.
Alternatively, you can look up the current version on SAP Training
The C_LCNC_xx certification is valid for 5 years.
SAP Certification Hub
To take the exam visit SAP Training and select Access the Certification Hub, which redirects to Questionmark
How to Prepare
Topic Areas
Information about the topic areas covered is listed on the exam information page of the SAP Training and SAP Learning portals. We find each of the products of the SAP Build suite listed: Apps, Process Automation, and Work Zone, plus one for the concepts about low-code/no-code and citizen development.
Note the small print: “SAP reserves the right to update the exam content (topics, items, weighting) at any time” make sure to check the exam page before applying. |
SAP Learning
To prepare, take the 12-hour Learning Journey, provided at no charge on the SAP Learning website
As prerequisite, a Learning Journey about the platform basics is listed (6 hours). You won’t get any questions on the platform but for those new to BTP, the content might add some context before diving into SAP Build
Note that there is also a 4-hour Learning Journey about SAP Build (awarded with a badge) at Beginner level.
Time of writing, the topic area Business sites only has a 10% weight. This topic corresponds to the product SAP Build Work Zone, advanced edition. The questions are mostly high-level as covered in the Learning Journey: you are not expected to be intimately familiar with the product.
Should you wish to learn more about Work Zone and get certified, see |
SAP Learning Hub
For those that have a subscription, the same material from the Learning Journey is also presented in a more traditional course format on the SAP Learning Hub (BTP150). You can download the manual as PDF for offline reading (excluding the training videos, of course).
SAP Developers
In the Learning Journey hands-on tutorials are included for SAP Build Apps and SAP Build Process Automation. You can find the same tutorials on the SAP Developers site in an easier to consume format.
- Create an Application with SAP Build Apps
- Build Your First Business Process with SAP Build Process Automation
As mentioned, SAP Build Work Zone is covered at a more high-level format.
For a good introduction, see also the App Builder Quick start tutorials from the AppGyver documentation. As mentioned on the page, the article is also applicable to SAP Build App.
Sample Questions
Learning Journey
Each unit of the Learning Journey (and BTP150 course) is completed with a knowledge quiz. The exam questions on the exam are similar, some even very similar…
Questionmark
The exam page on the SAP Learning and SAP Training includes a link to sample questions. These are hosted on the Questionmark site, the same as for the exam
The number of questions is too small to count for a solid assessment but taking the sample does help to familiarise yourself with the question format and user interface.

Over the years, for the SAP HANA Academy, SAP’s Partner Innovation Lab, and à titre personnel, I have written a little over 300 posts here for the SAP Community. Some articles only reached a few readers. Others attracted quite a few more. For your reading pleasure and convenience, here is a curated list of posts which somehow managed to pass the 10k-view milestone and, as sign of current interest, still tickle the counters each month. |
